혈액암 연구실
Laboratory of Hematological malignancies
2001년 종양생물학 대학원에 참여하면서 삼성 암연구동에서 혈액암을 연구하는 실험실을 개설하였다. 내과학교실 혈액내과 소속의 김병국 교수, 윤성수 교수 및 한양대 이영렬 교수가 주도하여 혈액암 발생 및 진행 기전과 유전적 이상 및 약물 내성의 맥락에서 혈액암에 대한 연구를 진행하고자 설립되었으며, 석∙박사 대학원 과정 학생과 연구원 및 외부 기관 연구자들의 활발한 공동연구를 진행하고 있다.

연구내용
고영일 교수님 연구실은 WET BENCH(실험연구)와 DRY BENCH(생물정보학 분석)의 협업을 통해, 암 발병 및 진행 기전의 규명, 치료제 반응 메커니즘 분석, 그리고 정밀 유전자 치료법 개발에 집중하고 있는 융합형 연구실입니다.
본 연구실은 서울대학교 내과학교실의 윤성수 교수님의 연구실을 이어받아 연구 전통과 성과를 계승하여 운영되고 있으며, 이를 기반으로 혈액암을 포함한 다양한 질환 분야에서 기초 연구부터 임상 응용으로 이어지는 translational research를 지속적으로 확장하고 있습니다.
또한, Stanford University, Harvard Medical School, Vanderbilt University 등 세계 유수의 연구기관들과 긴밀한 국제 공동연구를 통해, 최신 연구 방법론 및 데이터를 기반으로 글로벌 수준의 학술성과를 창출하고 있습니다.
실험실에서는 혈액암을 포함한 다양한 암종을 대상으로 유전체-전사체 분석, 유전자 조작 세포 및 동물 모델 구축, 면역치료제 및 세포치료제 개발, 신약 반응성 평가, 그리고 후성유전체 연구까지 기초와 응용을 넘나드는 폭넓은 연구를 수행 중입니다.
연구목표
본 연구실은 차세대 염기 서열 데이터를 이용한 유전체 분석과 환자 유래 검체들을 이용한 실험 연구를 통해 혈액암의 진행 및 재발 기전과 같은 유전적 변화를 새롭게 발견하고 이를 증명하기 위한 기전 연구 및 항암제 개발 연구의 기반을 다지는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 이는 궁극적으로 미래 정밀 의료를 위한 혁신적인 임상 시험으로 이어질 수 있는 잠재적인 혈액암 치료 표적의 개발과 새로운 치료법 개발로 이어질 것이다.
