발암기전 및 화학암예방 연구실

Laboratory of Molecular Carcinogenesis and Chemoprevention
본 연구실은 1996년 서영준 교수가 부임하면서 최초 설립되었으며, 2004년 당시 과학기술부의 지원을 받는 국가지정 연구실과 이후 교과부 우수학자 사업에 선정되었다. 2011년에는 한국연구재단지정 종양미세환경 글로벌핵심 연구센터 사업단을 맡아 암과 주변세포와의 유기적 네트워킹을 집중적으로 분석하는 연구를 수행하고 있다. 특히 염증 및 면역세포와 암세포의 상호작용이 종양의 진행에 미치는 영향과 이를 억제하는 천연화합물을 발굴하고 그 분자세포생물학적 작용기전 규명에 관한 연구에 집중하고 있다

연구내용

본 연구실에서는 암화과정을 촉진하는 염증미세환경을 조절하는 세포내 신호전달 물질을 표적으로 하는 화학적 암예방 연구와 염증과 관련된 산화적 스트레스에 대한 생체방어 기전에 관심을 갖고 있다. 궁극적으로 염증의 신호전달 네트워크를 중심으로 암화과정에서 비정상적으로 활성화되어 있는 염증성 신호전달 물질이나 이들의 유전자 발현에 관련된 전사인자들을 탐구하고 있다. 그간 수행한 연구로 Nature Reviews Cancer, Journal of National Cancer Institute, Cancer Research (6), Oncogene (3), Cancer Letters (17)를 포함한 SCI 저널에 350편이상의 논문을 발표하였다(총 피인용 횟수, 26,000회; H-Index, 83). 이러한 연구 업적을 바탕으로 연구책임자인 서영준 교수는 이달의 과학기술자상(2006), 지식창조대상(2011), 한국과학상(2013), 인촌상(2015), 한독학술대상(2020)을 수상하였다.

연구목표
종양미세환경에서 암세포와 대식세포 및 섬유아세포등 주변의 기질 세포들과의 상호작용에 관여하는 새로운 신호전달 물질들을 발굴하고 이들의 작용기전을 규명하고자 한다.
